| Under the CIVITAS CATALIST project, an activity fund has been launched to finance on-demand activities by local authorities, public transport operators and public agencies in European cities that promote the benefits of the CIVITAS approach. The European Commission’s CIVITAS Initiative for cleaner and better transport in cities focuses on promoting and exchanging sustainable mobility concepts, processes and measures in cities throughout Europe, with a view to developing a new mobility culture. More information on CIVITAS is available at http://www.civitas-initiative.org/main.phtml?lan=en The aim of CIVITAS CATALIST is to ensure that the experiences of the programme benefit as large a community of cities as possible. Under the current call, open between November 5, 2008 and January 5, 2009, up to EUR 3,000 are available for “small initial interactions”, and between EUR 750 and 10,000 are available for “inspirational and supporting take-up activities”. Cities that have not previously been involved in projects funded by CIVITAS are eligible to apply.
