In the framework of the Fifth World Water Forum, the REC organised the side event “Opportunities and Challenges in Water Management after EU Enlargement and Prospects for Candidate Countries”. The side event focused on discussing opportunities and challenges that have been encountered in the light of EU enlargement, and on pinpointing the possible impacts of the EU accession process on water management in South East Europe and Turkey. Senior experts from the EBRD, the World Bank, UNDP GEF and the EC Delegation to Turkey gave presentations at the event.
