  Joint Environmental Law Service

The Joint Environmental Law Services (JELS) focuses on:

  • Providing advice and short term legal expertise;
  • Development and codification of international environmental law;
  • Monitoring the status and implementation of MEA s in the Central and Eastern European region.
JELS is a consortium formed by three international organizations in May 2001:
  • Law Center of International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN);
  • The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC); and
  • Regional Office for Europe of the United Nations Environment Programme  (UNEP)

JELS aims at joining these organizations' strengths, capacities, skills and potentials to better meet requests for assistance and effectively deliver results to beneficiaries.
