CARDS Priority Environmental Investment Programme for South Eastern Europe (PEIP)

PEIP 2007-2009 7th Regional Meeting for Senior Officials from SEE and the Donor Community - June 18-19, 2009, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina The objectives of the seventh and final PEIP regional meeting were to: Provide an update on the development of environmental investments in SEE since November 2008: main policy developments, reform efforts and financed projects. Provide an update from the European Commission on environmental financing, including IPA implementation and project preparation facilities. Present an overview of the whole period of PEIP implementation, between 2007 and 2009, including: developments in environmental infrastructure investments in beneficiary countries; and lessons learned from PEIP. Discuss the future of environmental infrastructure investments from 2009 onwards. The meeting brought together major stakeholders involved in the region, including officials from SEE countries, the European Commission, international financing institutions, representatives of the donor community, and other interested stakeholders.
