We would like to invite you to the 4th Plenary Meeting of the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network for Accession (ECENA). The meeting will be held on October 6-7, 2009 in Brussels.

The meeting will be co-chaired by the European Commission and the Regional Environmental Center, as the Secretariat for the ECENA.

Meeting participants will review the activities carried out in 2008/2009 under the ECENA's Multi-Annual Work Programme for 2007-2010 Period (MAP) and its impact on progress that countries have made toward implementing EU environmental legislation since last September's 3rd Plenary Meeting. ECENA MAP draws its financial support from the European Commission CARDS 2005 Regional Programme.

ECENA is an informal network of environmental authorities from EU candidate and potential candidate countries, as well as from new member states Bulgaria and Romania. The European Commission is also an ECENA member. ECENA's main objective is to support its member countries in strengthening environmental compliance and enforcement in line with obligations taken up in the EU accession process.
